Learning experience using technology

Today’s generation students who can undoubtedly called as the digital natives has never known a world without Google, wikipedia, internet and even smartphones. Technology is side by side  or around or can be said all over therefore, it stands to reason than technology should be the vital part of their educational experiences. Todays computers and tablets are offering the frontline search to get the expected result in a second while back then encyclopedias and card catalogues were used. Thus the scope of using technologies for empowering the teaching learning process is highly forecastable.

 

It is important to acknowledge that students are already interested and engaged in using technology, this creates many amazing opportunities for research, reading, learning schools students and teachers to benefit from integrating some forms of technology in the classroom and to make teaching and learning more effective. Learning experience using technology which has been provide by various organizations help or uplifted the learning techniques through Google, pdf file uploaded in drive and through these documents available in internet hub uplift the learning skill through technology.

 

Role of technology is growing day by day, numbers of nascent applications and services could help in facilitating learning process. Such as cloud computing, augmented  or virtual reality ( it puts students into an environment, enabling them to experience whats going on without actually being there) , machine learning, technology mashups ( combination of 3D painting, robotics and programming) etc.

 

However the developing countries like our country Nepal, students are also somehow based in technology but the technology haven’t been utilized as profitably as it could be. We are preferably using technology for entertainment purpose rather than learning one. It is the saddest reality that we are living a country where the whole education system is being stopped due to pandemic, even though you are studying in universities, where as other countries uses online classes in regular basis in higher level studies. Today also we prefer going to colleges, attending classes of teachers and teachers teach using chalk and duster. We do have laptops and mobiles but we use them only when we have to write articles. So in this 21^st century its necessary to  change this education system, it must start e-education, online classes, online exams so that in this rapidly moving era we can utilize time properly.

 

Despite decades of national, state and local promotion of education uses of technology, classroom practice in most schools has changed little from that of the mid 20^th century. Globally, large scale national survey of teachers practices with technology found an improved use of technology as a productive tool supporting their own work between 2005 to 2007 but no increase in level of teacher-assignment of learning activities for students during the same time period. Teachers and students use technology more frequently outside the school than they do during class time.
