Experience of virtual classes | Ms. Sanika Rai, Kanjirowa National School

Beginning anything is always difficult and confusing. When I first got introduced to virtual teaching and learning mode, there were a lot of overwhelming situations. However, exploring the virtual teaching itself was intriguing and with time, it became convenient. I especially found virtual platforms to be a lot better in terms of carrying out group or individual ppt presentations which encourages group work and engagements among students. Unlike physical classes, it’s easy to share their presentation in Google slides through screen sharing and can use any of the technical tools when necessary. Also, the students can use Google meet anytime for discussions and preparations. This whole process turned out to be very beneficial for students to initiate and lead their tasks and explore with their own creativity. I am a Social Studies Teacher. Learning experience using technology

Today’s generation students who can undoubtedly called as the digital natives has never known a world without Google, wikipedia, internet and even smartphones. Technology is side by side  or around or can be said all over therefore, it stands to reason than technology should be the vital part of their educational experiences. Todays computers and tablets are offering the frontline search to get the expected result in a second while back then encyclopedias and card catalogues were used. Thus the scope of using technologies for empowering the teaching learning process is highly forecastable.   It is important to acknowledge that students are already interested and engaged in using technology, this creates many amazing opportunities for research, reading, learning schools students and teachers to benefit from integrating some forms of technology in the classroom and to make teaching and learning more effective.
